Kailasgad Adventure Treks Pune Mumbai
Kailasgad, one of the less explored forts of Sahyadri. The fort probably served as a watch tower. With no famous event happening in history, the fort remained shy of glamour until recent. Surrounded by backwaters of Mulashi Dam, the fort stands tall at 1100 mtrs. The base village is Waghwadi.

There aren’t many ruins on the fort but the caved cisterns indicate that the fort belongs to Saatvahan era. There is a small wall and a Shivling. The fort was mentioned in one of the letters sent by Shankaraji Narayan Sachiv to Hanamantrao Phatak in 1706 AD. The mountain top is also full of flora like Karvy, Persian velvet and varieties of orchids. The trek is a small hike of about one hour and is definitely a mesmerizing trek during monsoons.
