Sahyadri Treks- Pune - Mumbai
One of the most notable forts in Maharashtra's past is Rohida. Constructed during the Yadava era, the fort has a height of 1116 meters. According to the inscriptions on one of the gateways, Mohammed Adilshah renovated the fort, and Chhatrapati Shivaji took control of it in May of 1656. It was given to the Mugals in 1666 AD as part of the Purandar Treaty. The Pant Sachivs of Bhor took over the fort after Shivaji Maharaj Era, and they stayed there until independence.

On the approach from Bajarwadi, there are three grand entrances to the fort. The trekking route is a well-travelled path that climbs in around two hours. A plateau at the summit of the fort holds a number of cisterns and the plinths of various buildings. The only surviving structure is the Temple of Rohidmalla, which is surrounded by formidable bastions and defences. The work being done by Shri Shiv Durga Samvardhan to conserve the fort is amazing.
