Bhorgiri is a tiny village in Rajguru Nagar - Khed Taluk of Pune District. The village is surrounded by the hills and one of the hills is Bhorgiri fort which also houses some caves. The temple in Bhorgiri is of Koteshwar. It is believed that the temple was originally constructed by Zanz king which is now destroyed and the ruins are spread around the new temple.

Bhimashankar is one of the jyotirlinga and the river Bhima originates here. The temple of is usually crowded by the devotees especially in the Hindu month of Shravan which is during monsoons.

The trek starts at Borgiri village and the route passes through dense everegreen forest and many streams. If one is lucky, they can see Giant Squirrel, the state animal of Maharashtra, known as "Shekru" in Marathi. This is the perfect trek for Beginners especially in monsoons. It’s a Jungle Walk of around 4 Hours which ends at Bhimashankar.
